Now that you have identified your GOALS for the quarter, I would like that you write the steps you will take to achieve those goals. Please, respond to this post with the steps you think you need to take to get where you want to go!
My goal for this spring 2013 is to improve my language skill. As I am not a native speaker and my mother tongue is not English, I supposed to study the international standard language which is English, to be able to get a better job in my country. I have an idea about taking the TOEFL test to evaluate my English skill after finishing this American through Academic Reading.
First of all, I will pay more attention in the class even I don't like reading at all but I am still enroll for Academic reading. (For what?) Yet, I will try to make myself love it because I realized that it will help me in the future even more or less.
Secondly, I will spare some time to review my lesson to gain more new vocabularies. I know that I am not good at remember thing but I do believe that if I try hard I will get what I want.
Next, I will listen more English song to improve my listening skill. In the mean time, it will improve my pronunciation through spoken language. If I listen more songs, I meant to different genre of song so I will get diverse accent, slang, street words and idioms.
Lastly, I will not be shy and timid to speak English in the public or in front of the real native speakers even I say the wrong words or wrongs accent. I am pretty sure that they will correct it for me; therefore, I will learn the exact one from them.
1. Get at least 90 points in Toefl IBT test. 5 steps to reach the goal are; - Study at least 5 new vocabuaries a day - Read at least 1 new article a day - Listen to the news, T.V. shows, radio, etc. - Watch movie without sub title at least 2 movies a week - Practice the test from any of a stimulated program such as Kaplan, Longman.
2. Save $1,500 within 10 weeks 5 steps to reach the goal are; - Try to save around $150 a week - Find a part time job - If I collect less than $150 a week, I need to save more than $150 in the coming week in order to meet the average at $150 a week - Spend less money in each week such as don't buy more frozen food that I still have some of them in the fridge, buy an instant coffee to make it by myself because it would be cheaper than buy it - Stop shopping for some 'On-sales' stuff such as clothes, shoes, purses, etc.
3. lose 5 pounds in weigh 5 steps to reach the goal are; - Go jogging at least 2 times a week - Stop eating dinner, espcially after 6 p.m. - Do not buy snacks such as potato chips, popcorn, - Avoid drinking pop drinks, espcially soda drink - Get off from buses 2-3 bus stops before my destination in order to walk or excercise myself
I have three goals for the spring. I'm not going to share my goals but some of the steps I will take and try to stick to these so I get get the results I want...
1. I'll set up reminders on my phone's calendar to remind myslef I need to do certain activity. 2.I'll set up my alarm earlier to wake up ealier. 3. I'll try to get ready fast to come to class. 4. I will try to be more efficient with my time during the week and finish all my lab on time. 5. I will carry my book with me everywhere I go on my bag and motivate myself to read. 6. I'll bring my ipod to lab and do the "work" while listening some of my favorite tunes. (I love to work with music).
My goal for this semester is to improve my reading and writing skills. First of all,I will read more books even though I do not like reading. Many people have told me that if you want to be good in writing you have to start reading too. Second of all, practice writing more often. I think the more you practice, the better you get. The last one is to study harder, I will try to be a good student for example come to class every weeks and do all homeworks and assignments. I will study at home too. I will try to read at lease one chapter before come to the next class.
