We've all had those days when we just can't seem to concentrate. And while there's no magic pill to bring us back to the height of our cognitive powers, there are some foods that have been shown to improve brain function, protect against age-associated cognitive decline and encourage focus and clarity. But before you dismiss the diet-brain connection as mere conjecture, keep in mind that study after study has found a relationship between what we put in our mouths and how well we can perform important thinking and memory tasks. While certain nutrients may specifically assist brain function, there is also the totality of our diets to consider. One recent U.K. study found that a diet high in saturated fat actually caused damage to neurons that control energy and appetite in mice. And several well-regarded studies have shown that meal timing is an important predictor of performance. For example, research shows that eating breakfast can improve the memory and acquisition skills of schoolchildren. 1) More or less 9 brain foods.
2) Other brain foods not mentioned on the article: a) Eggs b) Broccoli c) flaxseeds d) Tomatoes e) Pumpkin seeds f) Tomatoes g) sage h) red grapes i) Tea j) Carrots
3) I do believe that certain foods can help your memory improve, and will allow you to think with better clarity.“But what foods are actually considered brain foods?” you may ask. Believe it or not, there are a copious amount of foods that protect your brain, improving how good it’ll work, and can even generate new brain cells.
Yes, you read it right… new brain cells! You can still generate new brain cells–even when you’re an adult. A common myth recently espoused that brain cells quit occurring once you’ve reached adulthood, but reputable and prolific new research has debunked this myth. Regardless of how old you are, you can make new brain cells.
Keep in mind that all cells need nutrients to continue their growth. This means your brain needs foods that will give it the building blocks it needs to work right. When you have more neurons and connections within your brain, it means you have a stronger memory and your mind can work better.
Keep your life’s memories alive longer, and sharper than ever, with these six foods that will help keep your brain whole and healthy:
4) The brain foods that I have incorporated in my week diet are as follows: [1] Nuts at least 200 gms per week. 2) Sardines at least 1 small tin. 3) Olive Oil at least 1 cup 4) Spinach at least 3 cups 5) chocolates - a small bar 6) avocado - 3 pcs 7) water 500 to 800 ml per day or 3,500 ml per week 8) wheat half loaf per week 9) garlic at least one clove per week

I eat brown rice almost everyday instead of white rice, and having wheat bread instead of white bread. Moreover, almonds and walnut are my favorite. It is not only good for brain but also help the digestion.
2.Glucose<sugar from fruits>help a short term boost a memory ,thinking processes and mental ability.
3.yes,off course especially Omega 3<fat from fish help your brain run smoothly and this fat help reducing inflammation to our brain. This inflammation is often one of the brain disease.
4.I rarely eat fresh berries ,i consume just berries which in bakery .For the wheat and nut,I eat almost everyday because i like fake meat a lot<Most of fake meat contain wheat and flours products>.I really focus on drinking water a lot in each day,1 glass when I wake up and 1 before go bed, a lot during the day. Luz A. Lanzar Chapter Review - Chapter 5 03/14/13
Discussion Questions:
Question: 1) A check for $ 15.97 was presented to a guest, who paid it with a $ 20.00 bill. The service person brought three cents change back to the table, having kept the balance without the guest’s offering the tip. Is there any problem here? And if there is, how would you handle the complaint from the guest and make certain that it never happens again?
Answer:
1) There is a very potential problem in here. The service person must bring the change to the guest s and let the guests determine the amount of the tip. I would handle the complaint in a very diplomatic way by not putting down my service person but must be so apologetic with the guests and I will promise them that it will not happen again. Afterwards, I would make it clear to all my service person that it’s a no, no to presume that the guests would consider his change as a tip. A clear cut policy shall be issued to this effect.
Question: 2) What would you do as a manager if a guest refused to pay a bill because it is the policy of the restaurant not to tell the guests that “special prices”?
Answer:
I would explain to the guest that it is not right that they will not pay the bill. Also, I would ask them, if who informed them of such policy and will tell them there’s no policy such as that and we have no special prices. What I can do is just to offer them a complimentary discount for the bill. If they further insist of not paying, it will be a different story. By reporting them to the authorities would probably force them to pay us.
Question: 3) Should guests be allowed to substitute items on the menu?
Answer:
No, the guest will not be allowed to substitute items in the menu because it will distort the standard ingredients in the menu and would not give good result on the food. It will give a negative reputation or review for the restaurant once it will be allowed. It will become an issue that the specialty of the house (just in case) is not as good as expected.
Question:
4) If asked by a guests, “What should I not miss seeing in your town? How would you respond?
Answer: Being in a Restaurant business, I guess I should always be ready on the famous tourist spots in the town. Or I must have a ready brochure about it.
